Happy! Happy! Happy!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy Chinese New Year!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I was trying to make s'more pie for new year's eve party but I didn't read the instruction carefully so the pie ended up little bit messy hahaha here's the pretty nice picture before I bake the pie. I bet some people already know why I went wrong :D

As for Chinese New Year, it's my mom favorite big day, I helped her prepare the foods for the open house. It was so hectic, I didn't have time to take the pictures of the meals so here's the picture of my mom traditional must have snacks at CNY. It was taken right before all the guests arrived. 9 AM - 9 PM. What a day...

Last but not least, Valentine's Day. I'm single but I love love love all pink things hahaha I love cute and lovely things also. I though V-Day should be my day =))

Here's some love :)

It's red velvet with cream cheese frosting. Thank you Bake It in a Cake for the wonderful idea!

Chocolate Chip Cookies and Oreo Marshmallow with Brownies

First of all, Merry Christmas!!!

This Christmas I didn't make any Christmas theme cake so here's my last year 3d Christmas tree Gingerbread Cookies that I forgot to upload...

Hehehe it was for the Little Betsy Baker's Christmas Cookie Competition - 2010

Also there was a big Sweet 16th party where it was the first time I made real cake topsy turvy with my friend, Ivy, one hell of talented-"COD"-baker/cake decorator hahaha

Not forget the tiffany blue rose swirl cupcakes...

Great cake and cupcakes to end the 2010!!!

So for 2011, I was planning to make some dessert table (been in love with them lately) but since I've been so busy, I crossed that from my list hix

1 week before Christmas, I suddenly got invitation to my friend's potluck-Christmas eve-dinner-party. It's just s cover up party so all of us can gather together since nobody really celebrate Christmas hahaha

Everybody had to bring their own cooking, I though it was a great time to finally try The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie n’ Oreo Fudge Brownie Bar wooohoooooo \(^o^)/ I was so excited!

On 20 December, I made the CCC dough when suddenly on 22 December, my co-worker asked if I can make the Chocolate Chunk Cookies for her. I couldn't say no because I know she really love them. Haizzz in the middle of busy dateline, I made another batch of CCC and baked them tomorrow afternoon so my co-worker can enjoy them with her family before they went for vacation.

24 December morning, had to meet with my friend's aunt to discuss her wedding party (she asked me if I could contribute any idea) after that had lunch with my mum and back home. It was 3 PM, I started making the Chewy Brownies dough then assemble the layers; CCC then Oreos then marshmallows and then brownies.

I bake them for 20 mins and then 30 mins and suddenly my heart beat fast, where did I go wrong? Why they not cooked yet? I opened the website and read the instruction again, it took 40-45 mins to be ready. Oh nooo, I made 2 batch, I'll be late for the party!!!

But luckily I arrived at my friend's house just right in time when they start eating hahaha I accidentally left my camera at home when I was taking pictures so I can only said the food was delicious!!! There was spicy bolognese spaghetti with pork and prawns, medanesse chicken curry and potatoes, fruits cocktail, spam ham sandwich, baked banana with nutella and 1 bucket of KFC chicken since one of them were too lazy to cook hahahaha then, we went karaoke until 3 AM.

Happy Holiday guys!!!

FloLady with Pink&Blue and Totoro Puff

So much had happened for one month.
Let see...
First, I won the Suddenly Ghost Master Competition 2011

\(^o^)/ ~yaaaaaaaaaay!!!

So they allowed me to pick one of their t-shirt design, FloLady, I choose you!!! Fufufu here's me, try to make the photo looked mysterious but still pretty and flowery like the FloLady ;p

muach muach muach thank you suddenly :*

Later on, Munchees had our first 2 tiers wedding cake order.

\(^o^)/ ~yaaaaaaaaaay again!!!

Luckily the bride and groom let us designed what's best for them. They only ask for pink and blue as the theme color.

lovely soft colors

We actually finished a lot faster than our schedule but something happen at night. The fondant at the bottom cake started to crack and puff a little bit. My friend wanted to reassemble the cake but I was too tired, it's 11 PM, we already worked for almost 16 hours. I asked her to wait. If things got worst tomorrow morning, then we should reassemble the cake.

Well, it was. The upper cake also started to crack and puff. While I was driving as fast as I can to her house (we lived nearly 20 km apart), she repaired the upper cake. So when I arrived, I tried to rearrange the little flowers, put a lot more little flowers at the bottom cake as fast as I can. We didn't know what to do with the bottom cake, the only way was prayed for the best hahaha

We arrived too early at the wedding venue. The AC still off, no sign of the the bride and groom, we had to wait inside the car for 1 hour and the fondant started to melt, oh noooooooooooooo!!! We tried our best to prevent the fondant from too much melting but it will only worked for temporary.

We still worried when we presented the wedding cake to the bride and groom. But since they're going to start the wedding ceremony soon, me and my friend could only hope that the cake could last until the cutting scene. We had to leave to somewhere else since we're not invited hehehe

Luckily, the cake survived...
When we came back to collect the cake stands, the bride was really pleased. She and everybody loved the lovely decoration and the cake tasted delicious, everybody seem want a piece. The only thing she felt sorry was not ordering more cupcakes :)

Fiuuuuh... That's a relieved hahaha

It's been 2 weeks after the wedding cake misery. I was so very busy, work here and there, this and that, but suddenly I found this cute Totoro Cream Puff when I was surfing the web. I WANT TO MAKE THAAAAAAT!!! And I did! Hahaha the hell with work, I need a break.

Thank goodness for the internet!
Found a fabulous web that shared the recipe and tutorial in no time, Anna The Red. Went straight to the kitchen and so lucky that I have all the ingredients. Time to bake!!! *BIG GRIN*

It was late (around 10 PM) but I didn't care. There's no rules when or where you want to bake a cake, right? Riiiiight??? Hehehe I failed at my first attempt. Maybe because I'm too excited and not read the tutorial carefully or maybe because too exhausted from stir the dough hahaha anyhow... I tried again the next morning and I saw many Totoro.

totoro totoro *humming the totoro song*

puff! puff! puff!

totoro puffs! so happy when they puffed! \(^0^)/

Thank you Anna The Red!!!

Little Monsters Cupcakes

Been very very busy lately huhuhu so here's some quick review of some things that happened between December 2010 until March 2011 ;p

In December, I worked together with my beautiful and talented friend who also has a passion for decorating cake. Our best friend's little sister was having Alice in Wonderland Sweet 16th Party. We took charge in making the birthday cake and we choose to make Topsy Turvy Mad Hatter cake. It's our first time working together and our first time making topsy turvy cake. We looked so many videos, read so many books, texts, writing, anything about how to make topsy turvy cake for dummies hahaha

My friend already bake the cake so I went to her place very early in the morning just to decorate it. It took almost 16 hours just to decorate the cake, my oh my... We present the cake to the birthday girl on the next day. She was really happy so did both of us, tired but very pleased with the result :)

and here's the Blue Rose Cupcakes

In January, we worked together again for 1 month baby anniversary cake. We had to make 12 mini cakes and 50 boxes of 4 cupcakes in just 2 days. Thank goodness everything finished just in time. Many people came to help us :')

it's a baby girl

Later in January, I received some call for my friend's friend, she wanted to discuss about farewell gift for our friend who was going to Rotterdam. She gave me blank note book and asked me to draw some characters from their circle of friends at the cover and also some comic about them inside the note book. She told me everything about them, who to draw, what they do, their hobbies etc. But it's not enough for the comic part.

I only got 3 days to draw and thanks to the internet, everybody pitching in some funny stories about them and my friend who's leaving to Rotterdam. And I manage to finished just in time

a recycle note book from recycle paper by unicef

Nothing much happened in February except my birthday that didn't feel like a birthday because I was busy to work and because it's 1 day before the Chinese New Year hahaha everybody focus on the big CNY celebration :))

Oh, my neighbour adopt new puppy named Bruno, soooooo cute \(>v<)/

I made this Little Monsters Cupcakes 3 days ago for my editor's sons.

Sachiko

Pink! Pink! Pink! All Pink for 1 year old Sachiko \(^o^)/
The proud mama is my high school friend's older sister. At first she wanted cupcakes to celebrate the happy day and asked me to make some examples.

But then she changed her mind and asked for 7 inch-round cake. She showed me some picture of the cake she wanted to be. I don't feel too good to copy someone else's cake but the customer is a king, right? Beside, the example cake was so pretty, I don't think I can keep up with that hahahaha

And this was the best I can do :)

Gotcha!!!

Don't you love to do prank? Not a mean prank or stupid prank, it was just-for-fun prank hihihi ^^

There's this lovely couple whose getting married on Sunday. And they held a rehearsal dinner on Friday night. Me and my friend, RD, thought it would be nice to do something before they were officially married. I suggest to throw cream on their faces and she agreed. We gathered our accomplice. But plan was on and off, because some afraid that the bride won't like her flawless-skin-spa-treatment, trim-manicure-and-pedicure nails, beautiful dress, perfect hair do and splendid make up to be ruined 2 days before the D-Day hahaha I will be pissed off if I'm the bride. So we decided to do the prank only on the groom.

So, it was a cake marathon for me hahaha 3 days after working on the Royal Wave Threadless Cake competition, I continued to make the butter cream "cake" on Friday morning. My first experience with butter cream. Not so smooth. I struggled nearly one and a half hour just to find the correct consistency. But the coloring and decorating was fine. I tried to make it looks like their wedding invitation. Purple with pink and white leaf stamp.

3 cm styrofoam and 3 cm butter cream. Pretty neat, huh? ;)

Then I swirled some purple whipped cream and chocolate ganache on top of the chocolate cupcakes which I baked on late Thursday night. Well, I think it only be fair if I really made a real cake after we tricked them with the fake ones hehehe

7 PM, me and RD arrived at the bride's house. The groom's dad gave some speech so we have to tippy-toe to the living room, barefooted. Then inside the house, we just realized everybody all dress up with their shinny shoes. Damn! We had to get out and put on our flip flops. RD thought we won't need shinny shoes since everybody gonna barefooted inside the house. Eee, wrong!

8 PM, everybody started to eat and mingle.

9 PM, everybody still eat and mingle.

10 PM, it's getting late and not to much crowd. Time to get started the evil plan mwahahaha me and RD pretend to go home since I forgot something. Took the cream "cake" and the cupcakes. Put them inside RD's car. Back at the bride's house. Pretend there's something wrong with the car's wheel. Made some scene so people got out from the house to the garage. Present the "cake" to the couple. The groom and some people smelled something fishy. But we kept the straight face. Everybody forgot about the wheel and focusing on the "cake".

So far so good. We let the couple took some pictures with the "cake". At that time, the bride was holding the cake so RD told the groom to hold it. After the groom held the cake RD told him that he held it the wrong way. RD step forward, pretend to fix the position and YIHAAA!!!

1st attempt not so smooth, tsk, the groom had a nice reflex. So RD had to do it 1 more time, followed by the best men and the groom's best friend hahahaha it was a success!!! After that we watched the groom chased the bride while she's screaming, "nooooo... not my haaaaiiirrrr...!!!" =))

The bride still afraid when I present her the cupcakes. Hahahaha I'm sorry guys, it's all just for fun, no hurt feelings, ok? Peace (^o^)v

I'm not sure why we love to trick this couple, but we string sprayed them again late Sunday night at their wedding ballroom hahahaha

Wishing you guys a happy marriage, hoping that your life together will be rich in joy and love and be happy ever after!

Christmas Christmas Time is Here

Yesterday was a bit tiring but happy day :D
My childhood friend from Ausie came. We've first met at some school project, 5th grade Elementary School. She and her family move to Perth in the middle of 1st year Junior High. But she always come back to Jakarta each year around Christmas or New Year. The first time she visited after she left Jakarta for Perth, she brought me candy cane and chocolate. That's the first time I knew candy cane and loving it since hahahaha I know, childish, but can't help it ;p
Ever now and then, she always brought candy cane and chocolate, always different flavored, mint, cherry, chocolate hahaha love you, Aileen *hug*

We were suppose to watch movie and meet at 10 o'clock at her house. I want to surprise her with some cupcakes. Woke up at 7 am and started decorate the cupcakes (already bake them the night before). I miscalculated (and a bit underestimated) the timing. I didn't expect it took 4 hours to decorate them. But I was overjoy with the final result. To me, it was wonderful. I'm happy and so did she. Yaaay!!!

We went to see Ninja Assassin with her brother, Andre and her cute cousin, Jessica. I was a brutal movie (@_@) part of body sliced and flew here and there, blood scatter everywhere, Jessica kept shrieking on every fighting scene hahahaha I was a little bit shock at first but couldn't help to laugh when the blood burst like tomato sauce. No, I'm not some lunatic sadistic but to me it didn't look realist. Thank goodness for that or I'll be scare like Jessica. I hate horror movies and blood. Give me chills...

After that we went home, I had to attend my Japanese language. The time's short, I drove to the place as fast as I could but haiyah it was cancelled coz the sensei couldn't come. Grrr... Drove back to home and went to sleep. Woke up around 7 PM, right about time to watch SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE season 4 on AXN. I know it's last season but didn't complaint coz I always love to see people dancing. I'm crazy about this 1 contestant, Mark Kanemura kyaaaa he's so cute and talented. I like him from his first audition but fell in love when he picked up his nose in front of the camera. OH MY GOD, DID HE REALLY DO THAT?! Hahahahaha
I always love cute cooky guy :)

Later that night, went to nearby mall to meet my friend. Love the Christmas decoration inside the mall. Teddy bears everywhere!

There's some leftover of the ingredients so I decided to make carrot cupcakes.

Garden Party

Last weekend my niece from Surabaya came. She and her big bro was having an appointment with their eye doctor. It was a very very short trip for them but I made a promise to bake her strawberry cupcakes for her next trip to Jakarta. I never make any strawberry cupcakes before. So, I Google and found some random recipe and made little adjustment.
So there I was. 7AM in the morning with table full of ingredients. Mixed, swift, fold, bake. My cousin-in-law told me she should be coming around 12 at noon for lunch. But suddenly she had to canceled it because her son was having fever. They will be leaving the hospital at 10AM. I looked at the clock and it was 9AM. I should be able to catch them. The hospital wasn't that far from home. Luckily the cupcakes already set, only need a little decoration. Strawberry jam, cookie crumble, cute fondant and chop chop chop it's harvest time!!!

Hahahaha I was inspired from Hello, Cupcake!
And I choose those theme because my cousin love to play Farmville.

Hi there people :)

I don't know how to start this blog so maybe I just tell you a little bit about myself. I like to watch movies, reading, and drawing, sometimes baking, others doing some art and craft project but not writing hahaha... My writing skill's very poor so please forgive me for the grammars and oh so little vocabulary and maybe if I lost you in my blabbering ;p

Couple of weeks ago, my childhood friend from Perth came and I though it was a good time to try my new buttermilk and green tea powder which I purchased from some Food Festival. Time to bake mini cupcakes :D
I love mini cupcakes! They're so tiny. You can put them in your mount in just 1 bite. Munch munch munch and the next thing you know, you already finished 4 of it hahaha...

Turned out that the buttermilk powder make a flat surface. It didn't give the dough more power to rise than the green tea powder *sigh* but the smell sure build up the appetite hihihi...
A little whipped cream, color sprinkles and voila!

And here's for fun :D

I ran out of whipped cream for the big cupcakes hahaha...
